Hajj 2019: Sokoto state records successful return of pilgrims

The Sokoto State Amirul Hajj and the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, has described the just concluded 2019 Hajj Exercise as hitch free and Successful.

In a statement, the Deputy Governor stated the development shortly after the arrival of last batch of 235 pilgrims from Saudi Arabia at the Sultan Abubakar International Airport in Sokoto State North West Nigeria.

He added that the arrival mark the end of Airlifting of all the Pilgrims from Saudi Arabia back to Sokoto.

He said since 21 July this year when Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal , inaugurated the First Flight, the exercise continue to record success as all 3,496 Pilgrims were airlifted to Madina the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) city for visitations of Historical sites before the commencement of the Hajj.

The Amirul Hajj commended Governor Tambuwal’s Sallah Gift of 200 Saudi Riyals which is equivalents to N24,000 each to 3,496 Pilgrims totaling to over 80 Million Naira.

He also added that the Governor offered three square meal to the entire Pilgrims for free including all medical assistance since their arrival of the pilgrims in the Holy land.

He also applauded the Pilgrims for being good ambassadors to Sokoto and Nigeria as no Pilgrim from Sokoto was caught doing anything that will tarnish the good image of the country.

Mr Dan’iya also commended National Hajj Commission for their efforts in ensuring hitch free exercise, despite some delays during and after the Hajj.

The State Amirul Hajj thanked Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for giving him and his team the mandate to serve the People of Sokoto and also for the Governor’s constant enquiries of the well-being of his Pilgrims throughout the Exercise.
