The US rapper, J.Cole has canceled his Dreamville Festival in his home state of North Carolina due to the anticipated arrival of a rather windy, uninvited and potentially dangerous guest.
Weather predictions say Hurricane Florence will likely hit the US East Coast as early as Thursday, bringing massive winds and rain.
US President Donald Trump had issued a warning as the storm strengthened on its way to the Carolinas, describing it as “one of the worst storms to hit the East Coast in many years.”
Organisers have said in a statement: “Due to safety concerns regarding dangerous weather, we are extremely saddened to announce today that the inaugural Dreamville Festival 2018 is being cancelled.”
J.Cole, who was to headline Friday’s event, performing for 30,000 people on the same bill as Big Sean, SZA, Young Thug and Nelly, says while he’s disappointed, “safety is most important.”
