A former governor of Imo, Mr Ikedi Ohakim, has expressed confidence in the ongoing electoral process.
Ohakim was speaking after casting his vote at his polling unit in Umunnuma, Mbano, near Okigwe in Imo at 11.00 a.m. on Saturday.
The former governor commended INEC in Imo for recording improvements after the presidential and national assembly elections, held earlier on Feb. 23.
He cited early arrival of voting materials, saying: “we have improved tremendously. Voting started at 2 p.m. last time but today we started by 11.00 a.m.”
Ohakim also expressed his optimism that he would emerge victorious in the governorship elections, citing experience as his unique advantage.
“I am confident that that I will win. I have the cognate experience to redirect Imo State and steer the ship of Imo State out of danger,” he said.
