As early as 7:30 am Nigerian time, tens and thousands of voters across the state trooped out to various polling centres across the state to conduct governorship and kogi West senatorial re-run elections amid tight security.
Voting since commenced on schedule at 8am in most polling centres at the metropolis and its environ with no incidence of violence.
In some other polling centres in the hinterlands, the opening of polling units were delayed due to distance, late arrival of election materials and a few hitches arising from near poor logistics.
Arrangements are underway to deploy election materials to the hard to reach areas in the eastern senatorial district of the state.
However, vote buying was recorded in Anyigba Town and there is tension in the area in the eastern senatorial district.
