The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC says the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will be rescheduled in three Council Wards in Benue State, North Central Nigeria.

INEC took the decision following attack on it’s facilities including a
Primary School building used by the Commission as it’s collating Center in Ayar Mbalom, Gwer East Local Government which was set ablaze by hoodlums in the early hours of Saturday.

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue State, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda disclosed this on Saturday in Makurdi while interacting with newsmen.

Elections did not hold in the three council wards in the state comprising Mbalom in Gwer West, Yandev North in Gboko and Manger II in Tarka Local Government Areas.

“The elections in these areas would be rescheduled and would be conducted at a later date,” REC noted.
