Iran to expand relations with Nigeria, Africa

The Islamic Republic of Iran says it is committed to expanding relations with African countries.

The Iranian Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador, Morteza Rahimi Zarchi, who stated this in Abuja at an event to mark the 39th anniversary of Iranian National Day, added that Nigeria is Iran’s key ally in Africa.

Ambassador Zarchi also said Nigeria is Iran’s economic partner in Africa and that the mutual and international cooperation between both countries have advanced positively.

“Islamic Republic of Iran is willing strongly to expand relations with Africa and Nigeria in particular as an important member of African Unity and largest country in West Africa, according to Ambassador Zarchi.”

On enhancing trade relations between Nigeria and Iran, Ambassador Zarchi disclosed that different business delegations have been exchanged between the two countries.

The envoy disclosed that the sixth Joint Economic Commission between the countries would be held in Tehran, the Iranian capital.

Iran is celebrating 39 years since the revolution overthrew Iran’s monarchy and gave way to the country’s Islamic system of government.
