Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun has expressed delight with his home debut for Premier League team Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
The 30 year old Nigerian came on as a substitute in the first half after capain Lewis Dunk cupped an injury.
Indeed Balogun shone brilliantly for the homers in their thrilling 3-2 win over Manchester United.
“Thanks everyone (Brighton & Hove Albion) for the warm welcome. Couldn’t really have wished for a better debut in the EPL, beating Manchester United at home!”, he tweeted.
The defeat of Manchester United and the fantastic role played by Balogun did not go unnoticed by fans of the club.
“I honestly feared the worse when (captain) Lewis Dunk went off injured, but you stepped in and played confidently, and very well. Well done, and what a match,” said Brighton fan M.J Jackson.
“Superb performance all round and a particularly impressive debut from yourself! Thanks for being part of a great memory of a great day,” Aron Okines observed.
Nice display yesterday Please don’t forget to free Romelu Lukaku and rest from your pocket please,” an obviously delighted Phemmy Nice tweeted.
