The Independent Electoral Commission INEC in Jigawa State has declared the APC governorship candidate Alhaji Badaru Abubakar as the winner of the governorship election held on Saturday in the state.
The Returning Officer who is also the Provost of Nigeria Defence Academy Professor Azubuike Sunny Nwanko stated this shortly after collating the results at the INEC headquarters, Dutse the State Capital.
He explained that Badaru Abubakar who is the APC flag bearer has emerged the winner with the total votes of 810,933 to defeat all his opponents.
According to him, the PDP candidate, Aminu Ringim got 288,356 votes.
He added that the SDP candidate Bashir Adamu Jumbo got 32,894 votes.
Voice of Nigeria Correspondent reports that Badaru Abubakar of the APC won all the 27 local government areas of the state.
The returning officer pointed out that a total number of votes cast was 1,163,206 while the accredited voters in the state was 1,169,924.
According to him, the total valid votes was 1,139,054 while rejected votes is 241,952
