The Jigawa government says it will support all farmers’ cooperative groups in the state.
Alhaji Gambo Ibrahim, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agricultural and Natural Resources of the state, disclosed this during a sensitisation workshop for agricultural extension workers and farmers in Dutse.
Ibrahim said that the present administration under Gov. Muhammad Badaru was committed to boosting agriculture in the state.
According to him, the gesture is aimed to ensure food security and provide income for the people.
The permanent secretary charged the extension workers to transfer the new skills and knowledge they learnt at the workshop to farmers.
“I believe this would enable government achieve its objectives of boosting agriculture in the state.’’
Alhaji Ado Nasir, the head of farmers’ advocacy and community engagement, thanked the state government for organising the workshop for agriculture extension workers and farmers.
Nasir assured that the extension work would impart the new skills and knowledge they acquired during the workshop to the farmers across the state.
