Governor Nasiru El-Rufai’s running mate, Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe has just cast her vote at Magajin Gari polling unit, Gwantu in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Doctor Hadiza acknowledged improvement in the process despite the two hours delays before the voting commenced due to card reader failure.
She called on Kaduna electorates to conduct themselves peacefully during and after the elections.
Meanwhile, our Correspondent reports that, electorates have begin trooping out in large numbers especially in Igabi and some parts of Kaduna South LGAs to cast their votes.
A cross section of voters that were interviewed by Voice of Nigeria said, they initially had fears concerning the elections and resorted to stay indoors.
According to Halima Bawa, “some of us had to study the environment first and when we were assured of adequate security, we decided to come out and exercise our franchise”.
Joseph Gaskiya said he decided to cast his vote late because he was not certain if the Adhoc staff will commence voting early. “I was surprised when my wife told the exercise started early and there was no long queue. It took me less than an hour to vote”.
The Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections is smooth and fast, unlike the Presidential elections which was marred with card reader failure and late arrival of election inputs.
