The Chairman, Local Organiser Committee (LOC) for the maiden Kaduna State Motorbike Competition, Ahmed Jada, says 32 motorbikers were participating in the ongoing competition in Nyadoya.
Jada, who said this in Abuja noted that the event which started on July 28, would last for the three weeks, adding that it was sponsored by Gov. Nasir El -Rufai.
“This is the first time Kaduna State is organising a motorbike competition to keep the participants busy and focused.
“We have prizes for the first, second and third winners, and the winner will receive a brand new bike, while the second will receive N50, 000 and the third position will receive N25, 000.
“The competition is organised to reduce the rate of unemployment and to engage young men in the city. Motorbike competition has been a common sport in foreign countries.
“We will work hard to organise a West African Motorbike competition; this can be done with serious work and determination,’’ he said.
Jada said that competition is not included in the list of Nigeria’s sports federations, adding that funds would therefore be the greatest challenge in organising it at the national level.
