Kaduna PDP appreciates supporters, urges them to maintain peace

The People Democratic Party, PDP has appreciated its supporters and urged them to maintain calm and peace across the State.

The Chairman of the party, Mr Hassan Hiyet made the appeal during a press briefing in Kaduna.

While calling on the party supporters to remain calm, Hiyet said the reason for the briefing was to assure the public as well as inform them of the happenings in the State as regards the Governorship and State Assembly elections.

He thanked them for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner at the polls.

“Even in the midst of provocation and unnecessary interference of electoral process by security agencies, our supporters demonstrated a high sense of responsibility and confidence in PDP” he stressed.

He said the party has reports from various LGAs especially the Northern part where the card readers were not used during the exercise.

Hiyet alleged that, there were cases of ballot boxes snatching in Chikun, Giwa Birnin Gwari. “That of Birnin Gwari was so shameful that in magajin Gari, three ballot boxes were snatched throughout  the night and there was no voting there but just to come up the following day with votes filled up and signed”, he added.

He further alleged that Kagarko and Sanga LGAs of the state were under siege and the collation centres were taken by security agencies in other to change the result in favour of the ruling party.

He stated that, the party will accept results doctored results. “We will only accept results that would be calculated and originated from the result sheet of the polling units”.

The Chairman called on the security agencies to know that democracy is under serious threat. Their responsibility is to ensure the game is played according to the rules.
