Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday, arrived in Kano to lay the foundation stone of a Cancer Treatment Centre in the state.
The centre, when completed, will be expected to cater for people from the state and elsewhere suffering from the disease.
Other functions that the Vice President Osinbajo will perform in Kano are the laying of the foundation stone for the Sheik Kabibullah Nasiru Kabara Bridge as well as inauguration of the Alhaji Aminu Dantata Bridge and the Tijanni Hashim Underpass constructed by the administration of Govornor Abdullahi Ganduje.
Also in the Vice Presidents programme during his one-day visit to the ancient city of Kano are a courtesy call on the Emir of Kano, Mallam Mohammed Sanusi II, and tour of the National Museum in Kano.
Vice President Osinbajo, who flew into the Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, at about 11.30am Nigerian time, was received on arrival by Governor Ganduje and members of the State Executive Council.
He will return to Abuja later on Monday.
