Katsina State to immunise 2m children against measles


Katsina State Government, says it is set to immunise over two million children against measles and other child killer diseases.


Dr. Kabir Suleiman, the Director Epidemiology and Disease Control made this known in Katsina.


“The state government has already secured and procured enough vaccines for the state wide vaccination against measles and other child killer diseases.


The immunisation will commence in the month of August and last up to October 2019.


The state government obtained support and assistance from donor agencies in order to successfully carry out the vaccination exercise.


We are calling on parents to present their children for this important exercise,” he said.



Suleiman said the government wanted to record at least 95 per cent success in the vaccination exercise.


The state had recorded outbreak of measles that claimed at least 20 children this year, but the disease had been contained.
