Five meter vendors have been approved by the Nigeria Electricity Regulation Commission NERC for the Kano Electricity Distribution Company, KEDCO to enhance mass distribution of meter and maximize customer satisfaction in its franchise areas of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states.
The approval of the five preferred bidders, according to the management is a follow up to series of meetings and review of submissions made in the procurement process by KEDCO to the regulatory agency.
The approved vendors are: Armese consulting limited, CrestHill Engineering limited, Meron Nigeria limited, Mojec international limited, Momas Electricity meter manufacturing company.
The finalization of procurement process for the engagement of MAPS has been boosted by NERC’s approval. The MD/CEO of KEDCO, Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna stressed that “We have been prepared for this as we strongly believe it would to a very large extent address some pressing challenges bordering on customers’ complaints”.
“With this now done, we are set to roll out meter services in line with NERC’S directive with a view to ensuring that complaints are minimised while maximising satisfaction for our teeming customers,”
“KEDCO is putting some finishing touches to events that would ensure a smooth ride as soon as the metering services commence, while assuring our customers that we will soon start as soon as KEDCO fine-tunes all the necessaries for the roll out plan.” he emphasized
Dr. Gwamna therefore called on the good people of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States to embrace the metering scheme and give all the vendors the necessary support for the success objective that the scheme was meant to achieve.
The approval is contained in a release signed by Ibrahim Sani Shawai, Head, Corporate Communications of KEDCO, Kano state north Western Nigeria.
