Tunde Akanbi, Ilorin

The Kwara State Government says it has concluded arrangements for the flag-off of the campaign tagged ‘Malaria Free Kwara’ on Friday in Ilorin, the state capital.

To this end, over 500 health facilities across the 16 local government areas of the state had been supported to carry out free testing and treatment of pregnant women and children.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr Rhoda Ajiboye told Newsmen that necessary logistics had been put in place by the Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to ensure that all Kwarans get access to affordable healthcare service delivery.

Dr Ajiboye enjoined Kwarans to take full advantage of ‘Malaria Free Kwara’ campaign by visiting nearby health centres for the treatment of malaria parasites.

The Permanent Secretary admonished the people of the state, especially those in the rural areas to be mindful of stagnant water that could breed mosquitoes and ensure regular clearing of bushes around them.

Doctor Ajiboye also advised residents of the state to always sleep under insecticide treated net to prevent malaria.
