Kwara state’s football Academy U-19 team has qualified to represent Nigeria in an international youth tournament coming up in Denmark in July this year.
The team picked the ticket to represent Nigeria after coming third in the 36th edition of Ramat International U-19 Cup in Kano last month.
This year’s edition of the tournament organized by youth sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) in memory of Nigeria’s slain Head of state, General Murtala Ramat Mohammed was won by the host, Kano state who will represent Nigeria in Portugal.
Second place Lagos state team will host Nigeria’s flag in an International youth tournament in Brazil.
The Kwara football academy team, which represented Kwara YSFON at the tournament have one of their players, Mubarak Gata voted as most Valuable player (MVP) of the tournament while coach Samuel Elijah of KFA was also awarded the best coach of the tournament.
