The Labour Party, LP Governorship candidate in Kwara State, Comrade Issa Aremu has stepped down from the race.
Comrade Aremu, who personally announced this decision at a press briefing attended by Stalwarts of Labour Party and All Progressive Congress in Ilorin, said his last minute decision was to give maximum electoral support to All Progressives Congress, APC Governorship candidate in the State, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman.
This development is coming in less than forty eight hours to the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly Elections.
According to him, the APC Governorship Candidate share the same vision and cardinal programmes as contained in Labour Party manifesto towards socio-economic transformations of the State.
Comrade Aremu, therefore encouraged all his supporters and the entire members of the Labour Party to massively vote for the APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman in Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly polls.
The Labour Party Governorship candidate said further that his action was taken in the interest of a collective desire to move the State to the next level of economic prosperity , industrial growth and infrastructural rehabilitation towards improving the wellbeing of the people.
Comrade Aremu, therefore, dedicated the emerging synergy between the two parties to sterling leadership quality of the APC National Chairman, comrade Adam Oshiomole and relevant stakeholders in the labour party.
The APC governorship candidate in Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman, described the development as a purposefully merger to liberate the State age long developmental deprivation, economic stagnation and political disillusion.
Alhaji Abdulrahman, used the occasion to announced his plans for pragmatic revival of critical sectors, notably education, health agriculture and infrastructures across the State.
The State Chairman of the Labour Party, Abdul-Kareem Onagun called on the party followers to work for the victory of APC at this weekend’s polls.
