Lack of know-how: Greatest challenge facing Nigeria’s agric sector- CIAT director

Africa Director, International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), Dr. Adebisi Araba says the most important setback facing the Nigerian Agricultural sector is the acquisition of know-how.

Speaking at the day one of Feed Nigeria summit in Abuja, Adebisi said concerted efforts geared towards acquiring technical know-how, would solve the majority of the problems being faced by the nation’s agricultural sector.

Araba who noted that Agriculture was a business not a developmental activity stressed that Nigerians must submit to scouting the earth to acquire knowledge and technical know-how in agriculture.

He added that ”Acquiring Know-how is not rocket science, let’s stop trivializing agriculture, its for those who want to transform their world”

While urging Nigerians to collaborate efforts to advance the agricultural sector, the Director charged local, regional and national authorities on the need to embrace technology in order to enhance Nigeria’s Agricultural sector.
