The Lagos State University has hosted an exhibition showcasing students of the university with various skills, products and services.
The students exhibited products such as hats, fashion designs and foods and beverages.
Other students showcased their skills and services in make-up, hairdressing, bead making, computer repairs among others.
About three thousand students participated as exhibitors.
The student entrepreneurs were 300 level students of the university who recently completed 8 weeks of an entrepreneurial training course.
“I now know the basics of shoes and bag making,” Muritala Omotoke told Voice of Nigeria.
“I can now cut leather materials for bags and draw patterns for slippers. And I know the materials to use without being reminded,” she said.
It’s the second time the Lagos State University is holding such as an exhibition for students after the first edition held in 2019. This year, more students took part in the exhibition.
“I have learnt a lot,” one of the students, who exhibited her group’s published books, told Voice of Nigeria. “I have learnt how to write, edit and publish books with the help of my facilitator,” she stated.
The Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University, Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun said he was proud of the students and that a number of them could see themselves in the National exhibition in Abuja and other global exhibitions in entrepreneurship.
He said some of the students could also qualify for a Lagos state endowment fund on entrepreneurship.
Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Finance also supported the entrepreneurship training and exhibiting students with the donation of books on entrepreneurship.
