Lawmakers engage U. S. congress over Tucano supply

The House of Representatives is to meet the US congress on Air Force to facilitate the delivery of Super Tucano aircraft purchased by Nigeria to fight insurgency and insecurity in the country.

The Chairman House Committee on Airforce, Alh. Shehu Koko at the inauguration of the committee emphasized the importance of the aircraft to Nigerian Air Force.

He maintained that timely delivery of the operational tools will boost the Air Force’s capacity, especially in the fight against insurgency.

Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadeeq Abubalar, told the committee that the Nigerian Airforce is currently engaged in a six months operations across the country.

Air Marshal Abubakar also stressed that in the last five years, the Air Force had flown 65,000 hours to protect the people and the Territorial integrity of the Nation.
