The Nigeria House of Representatives has commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, and the Director-General National Council for Arts and Culture, NCAC, Mr Olusegun Runsewe, for protecting public property at the Arts and Crafts Village in Abuja.
The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Tourism, Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, made the commendation in a statement following his visit to the Arts and Crafts Village, in Abuja.
He noted that some unpatriotic people had attempted to convert the property to personal use, but for the intervention of the Ig and the DG.
He condemned situations where individuals convert government property to personal uses and extolled the IGP and DG for securing the permanent site of the Council.
Ogbeide-Ihama added that they had remained unwavering in their commitment to protecting government property.
Some members of the committee who accompanied the Chairman also extolled the duo for their efforts at securing the property while giving their support to the council as it sought to reopen the village.
