Premier League leaders, Liverpool, are poised to make a January move for Samuel Chukwueze.
The report revealed that Jurgen Klopp was eager to add the 20-year-old winger, who is also a target for Leicester City, to his squad. Chukwueze is also on the radar of Real Madrid who joined the race to snap up the Villarreal winger as they bid to land a replacement for wantaway star Gareth Bale.
Madrid’s rivals, Barcelona, also see the former Diamond Academy player as a cheaper alternative to Brazil’s Neymar.
Both Spanish teams are desperate to offload Gareth Bale and Ousmane Dembele and are searching for quality replacements in La Liga.
A report on Spanish website, Fichajes, also revealed that Villarreal are resigned to losing the Nigeria international at the end of the season if the player continues in his impressive form.
“Real are also interested in Samu (Chukwueze) and Villarreal are aware that top European clubs have expressed keen interest in meeting his €63m release clause,” the report stated.
But Megoalsports, however, did not state if the Reds are prepared to match his release clause.
At 20 years and 49 days, Chukwueze became the youngest scorer at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, when he grabbed his first international goal for the Super Eagles in their 2-1 quarter-final win over South Africa.
Chukwueze scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 40 appearances in his first season with Villarreal and has already scored once and provided two assists this term for the Yellow Submarines.
