Made-in-Nigeria: NOA organises Open Market Day in Plateau

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has organised an Open Market Day to showcase goods manufactured in Plateau state.

The State Director of the agency, Mr Bulus Dabit who disclosed this in an interview with Journalists on Monday in Jos said that the initiative was in continuation of the agency’s efforts at promoting made in Nigeria products.

He explained that manufacturers would sell their products at whole sale prices at the market, and reassured the public on the quality of the goods and services to be displayed there.

“We recently paid advocacy visit to local manufacturers in Plateau to encourage them in selling only products that comply with the guidelines of the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) and National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

“The Open Market Day will also showcase the services they render and goods they sell to the residents of Plateau. Some people may not know they can access products such as paints and cereals manufactured in Plateau,” he stated.

He said patronising indigenous products would develop the industries to compete favourably with their counterparts globally.

“These products can be developed for export to other countries. Organisations such as the Nigerian Export and Import Bank (NEXIM) are saddled with the responsibility of assisting manufacturers in such matters, they offer trade information and export advisory services,” he added.

The Director urged all manufacturers to avail themselves of the opportunity which would also expand business opportunities for them.
