Following the incessant traffic congestion witnessed by residents of Dutse and Bwari, the FCT ministerial task team on the Dutse-Bwari has given its operational guidelines that must strictly be followed to avoid breakdown of law and orders.
The Chairman of the Ministerial task team on the Free Flow of Traffic, Mr. Attah Ikharo in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja said during the Task Team inspection tours on Saturday and Sunday, they resolved to bring forward the commencement day to Monday 7th October.
This, according to him is expected to bit traffic on Monday being the popular Dutse market day, which is a contributing factor to build up of holdup in that axes.
The following are operational guidelines for the public: “No picking and dropping off passengers from Dutse first gate to the Kubwa Expressway; All loading and dropping of passengers must be in areas behind the banks opposite Dutse first gate; No roadside trading on the roads in front of and around Dutse market; No trading on the parking space at Dutse market. This would not be allowed at all”.
The statement further explained that, all cars must park inside the market, not on the road; No roadside trading around Dutse first gate entry point; and No driving against traffic, regardless of occupation or position. No.Expected time from Sokale roundabout through Dutse to Kubwa Expressway when going to work would be within 12 to 17 minutes due to ongoing construction work on the road.
It added that, expected time from Kubwa Expressway to Dutse First Gate after the close of work is 3 minutes, while to Sokale roundabout would be 9 minutes or less.
