Moses fails to ‘deliver’ Inter from Copa loss

It was not to be at the San Siro as Nigerian International Victor Moses failed to save top Italian side Inter Milan from being losing the first leg of their Copa Italia semi-final clash.

The Nerazzurri fell 0-1 to Napoli to throw spanners in the works for a domestic league and cup double.

Moses started on the right side of Inter’s midfield and created openings for the Serie A leaders, but Napoli put up a resolute rearguard action to deny the Blue half of Milan any joy.

That meant the visitors could hit on the break, and they did just that on 57 minutes as Fabian Ruiz curled one into the top corner to silence the rancorous San Siro stadium.

Moses made way for Chilean maverick Alexis Sanchez on 74 minutes, but nothing changed as the Gli Azzurri resisted a late wave of Inter attacks to give coach Genarri Gattuso a first leg advantage.

Inter must now dig deep and beat Napoli at their Stadio San Paolo to gain a passage to the Copa Italia final, where they face either AC Milan or Juventus.
