Nigeria’s National Agricultural Extension and Liaisons Services (NAERLS), has called for cooperation with journalists and researchers for effective communication in agricultural policies.
A Director with NAERLS, Professor Mohammed Khalid-Othman, made the call at the closing of a two-day training on “Policy Communication Course for Academics and Journalists” held in Kaduna State.
Khalid-Othman, said the synergy would go a long way in boosting agricultural productivity and encourage the two groups to work hand-in-hand to boost national food security.
The Director appreciated all the participants for their resilience, decorum and high sense of commitment during the entire training period.
One of the participants, Nasiru Abdul, General Manager, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) FM Radio applauded the programme for offering journalists ”a unique opportunity” and appealed to them to sustain the close working relationship to take agriculture to greater heights.
