Nasarawa State committed to quality health care delivery – Commissioner

Nasarawa State Government says it has included many activities in its 2020 budget in order to improve the health status of the people of the state.

Ahmad Yahaya, the state Commissioner of Health, Ahmad Yahaya, stated this while defending his ministry’s budget for 2020 before the state House of Assembly Committee on Health in Lafia.

Yahaya said the activities were based on Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s commitment to ensure effective healthcare delivery to people.

“His Excellency, Governor  Abdullahi Sule has prioritised the health sector, that is why we are complementing the governor’s efforts by being up and doing in ensuring effective service delivery in the state.

We will continue to inspect health facilities across the state in order to check quackery considering its negative effects on societal development.”

The commissioner solicited the support of the House toward ensuring that the health sector was improved.

Earlier, Usman Labaran-Shafa, Chairman, House Committee on Health, assured of the House commitment to give the health sector the attention it deserved.

Shafa urged the ministry to adhere strictly to the budget provisions if finally approved in the interest of the people.

The lawmaker also urged the Commissioner and his team to continue to be up and doing to improve the health status of the people of the state.
