The two chambers of the Nigerian National Assembly have adjourned plenary to honor Late Iliyasu Ja’afaru, who died on Monday.
Special prayers were offered in both Islamic and Christian Faith in the two chambers before the adjournment on Tuesday.
Late Iliyasu Ja’afaru was a last member of the House of Representatives Member to take his oath of office, following his victory in the appeal court.
He represented Rijau/Magama Federal Constituency of Niger State in the 9th Assembly.
After the March 2019, National Assembly Election, Shehu Saleh was declared winner of the election but Late Jafaru contested the result in Tribunal, and Appeal Court to win his seat.
Both Saleh and Jafaru were of the governing All Progressive Congress, APC.
Saleh was earlier contested in the Niger North Senatorial primaries, where he lost to Senator Sahabi Abdullahi.
