The former Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alh. Ado Doguwa and five other members who were elected in the last Saturday’s rerun elections were sworn in by the Speaker, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila.
The members were, three from Kano State, one each from Bauchi, Imo and Cross River States.
Both the public gallery and the Chamber of the Green House were full to capacity with the large crowd coming from Kano State to felicitate with Mr. Doguwa who hails from the the State.
The delegation led by the State Governor, Abdulahi Umar Ganduje, was made up of former Governors, Senators, supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, traditional and religious leaders amongst others.
Immediately after the swearing in, Mr. Ado Doguwa was returned as the Leader of the House through a motion by the House Chief Whip, Mr. Mohammed Tahir Munguno that the former House Leader, Mr. Doguwa should take back as the House leader.
The law makers lost their case last year at the Court of Appeal over petitions from the 2019 general elections.
