The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has penciled down nothing less than 27 players expected to prosecute forthcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) under-19 division two qualifier match slated August, this year.
The selected players were drawn after the federation’s technical crew ended their first phase of camping in Benin last weekend.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, NCF Public Relations Officer, Musa Ehizoje explained that 24 out of the invited lads were chosen after the initial invited 44 were grouped into four teams, where they engaged each other in a T-20 tournament series.
Ehizoje further hinted that three players including Sylvester Okpe, Isaac Danladin and Runsewe Sulieman who were already invited to the country’s senior Cricket team and still eligible for under-19 in line with the statistics age grade matrix by ICC, would be part of the junior mix.
Meanwhile, Nigeria Senior Men’s team has resumed for second phase of their camping in Lagos.
No fewer than 15 Players, plus three foreign counterparts would be eventually selected to be part of ICC Sub-Regional qualifier scheduled for prestigious Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval in Lagos, in April.
