NDDC to set up food processing mills in Akwa Ibom

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) says it will establish three palm oil processing mills and a garri processing mill in Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District as a pilot scheme for Akwa Ibom State.

The NDDC Managing Director, Mr. Nsima Ekere, who stated this in Uyo, the state capital said that the three palm oil processing mills would be located in Ukanafun/Oruk Anam, Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara/Essien Udim and Ikono/Ini Federal Constituencies

He added that “the garri processing mill would be located in Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency and the mills would be replicated across the state”, he said.

The NDDC was established in 2000 with the mission of facilitating the rapid development of the Niger Delta into a region that is economically prosperous, socially stable, ecologically regenerative and politically peaceful.
