Jackie Groenen’s pinpoint strike in extra-time was the difference, after both sides played out a 0-0 goalless draw in 90 minutes.
A defensively-minded approach from both sides forced extra-time and the Netherlands stole the advantage thanks to a flowing move in the 99th minute.

There were worrying scenes in the final moments when Sweden’s Kosovare Asllani was stretchered off with suspected concussion, forcing the Swedes to push for a late winner with ten players.
But, it was not to be for Sweden, who will now take on England in the third place play-off on Saturday.
The Netherlands, on the other hand, have the chance to add the World Cup to their European Championship triumph.
The USA will be the favourites after a brilliant tournament, with Lyon’s Parc Olympique Lyonnais set to host the final on Sunday.
