Niger State commends Nigerian Judiciary for protecting democracy

The Nigerian Judiciary has been commended for living up to expectations by doing the right thing, due to the recent judgment of upholding about fourSstate governors by the supreme Court.

The Secretary to the Government of Niger State, Ahmed Matane described the judgment as  a precedent that has been set on electoral matters in the country.

Matane said that the judgment had put to rest the tussle for the Governorship position of the State between the All Progressives Congress, APC and The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He described the victory by the Niger State Governor at the Supreme Court of Nigeria, on Wednesday as an indication that the judiciary has again proved itself strong in the protection of democracy and the rule of law in the country.

The SSG reiterated that the Government of Niger State would expedite action towards giving the people of the State true, qualitative, purposeful and transformational leadership that would bring about increased dividends of democracy to the citizens.

He called on the people of the State to continue to support the programmes and policies of the administration for the growth and development of the State and the country at large.
