Niger state sources N25billion for water project

Niger state government in North central Nigeria says it needs about N25billion to overhaul water projects across the state.

The Commissioner for Water Resources in the state Alhaji Mamman Musa said over fifty motor pumps have already been supplied across the state to increase the performance of the waterworks.

The Commissioner who mentioned this during a press briefing on Thursday in Minna the state capital added that the waterworks in Suleja, Minna, Bida and Kontagora local government areas of the state are the old water networking system and have not been functioning well.

According to him “we need at least N25billion to replace all the water pipes because we are concerned about the safety of health for our people.

We also need about N7billion to complete the Chanchaga waterworks. We will not compromise the quality of water supply.”

The Commissioner also gave the assurance that the State Government is willing and ready to complete all water projects in the state.
