The Niger state Pilgrims welfare Board in north Central Nigeria has planned to refund the balance of Hajj fares to its intending pilgrims directly without any intermediary before departing to the Holy land.
The Acting Executive Secretary of the Niger State Pilgrims welfare Board. Alhaji Makun Sidi Lapai who mentioned this during the commissioning of new blocks of offices at the States Hajj Camp, said the decision was taken as one of its plans of having a hitch free and transparent Hajj Operations in the state this year.
” This time around every intending pilgrim will receive his money openly in the presence of a special committee made of up Religious leaders and Pilgrims representatives across the local Government areas of the state “.
The statement by the Ag Executive Secretary of the Niger State Pilgrims welfare board was in line with the earlier directives of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON downward reviewed of Hajj fares to all states in the country and the armed forces to refund N51,170.45 less than the fares earlier announced by the Commission.
The acting Executive Secretary of the Niger state Pilgrims Board further said the agency has made an arrangements of taking care of Pilgrims whose money got missing during the Hajj period in Saudi Arabia.
Alhaji Makun however advised intending pilgrims from the state to always abide by the rules governing the Hajj operations both in Nigeria and the Holy Land.
About 3,200 intending Pilgrims would be performing this years Hajj from Niger State in North Central Nigeria.
Report shows that more than 18,000 intending pilgrims have so far been airlifted across Nigeria to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
