Nigeria has concluded the 2018 Hajj with the departure of the last flight from Saudi Arabia containing 111 officials from the media team, medical personnel and NAHCON staff.
The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON, Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad, officially announced the conclusion of the Hajj operations while addressing Journalists in the departure lounge of King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jedda.
Barrister Muhammad who thanked Almighty Allah (God) for the successful operation also appreciated Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President, Yomi Osinbanjo, members of the National Assembly and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, for the significant roles they played in facilitating the success of this year’s Hajj operations.
He also appreciated Secretaries of State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, their staff, the pilgrims themselves and staff of the Commission.
The Chairman praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for conducting a well organised Hajj season that had the welfare of pilgrims as its priority.
The Chairman, along with some staff of NAHCON, will however stay back in Makkah for mop up duties and to ensure that no Nigerian pilgrim is left behind before returning home.
