Gunmen Kill 40 People in Mosques in New Zealand

The Nigerian Government has condemned in its entirety the terrorist attack on the two places of worship in the city of Christ church in New Zealand.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama who made the condemnation said that the attacks which took place during Jumat prayers on Friday, 15th March, 2019 was unnecessary & barbaric.

He said ”the incident which left over 40 Muslim killed and many other worshippers injured was regrettable.”

”Nigeria stands in solidarity with New Zealand in their time of grief and fully supports the prosecution of the perpetrators of the heinous crime to the fullest extent of the law,” Mr Onyeama said.

The Minister condoled with the Government and the people of New Zealand and prayed for God to grant the families of the victims the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and wished the injured  quick recovery.
