Nigeria’s Ministry of Science and Technology, says the Technological Incubation Centres would create job opportunities to attract foreign investments across the country.
The Minister, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu disclosed this during the commissioning of the Technological Incubation Centre in Lafia, Nasarawa state capital.
Dr. Onu explained that in line with President Buhari’s vision on wealth creation, the Technological Incubation Centre, would help attract foreign investors, which in turn would provide more jobs opportunities for Nigerians.
Acording to him, the newly established Incubation Centres would help entrepreneurs increase to large business enterprises.
“This Centre will help produce the next generation of Dangote’s and International business men in Nigeria,” he said.
He stressed that the Incubation Centre is an important institute which the Ministry is using to commercialize research findings across the country.
‘The National Board for Technological Incubation (NBTI), gathers together all research findings from the Ministry and all other relevant institutions, with the sole aim of commercializing them,” he added.
The Director General of the National Board for Technological Incubation, Engineer, Mohammed Jibrin, described the centre as a key government intervention programme to fight unemployment in the country.
Engineer Jibrin, said the center would be essential in the creation of jobs as investment opportunities would stream into the nation to team up with startup enterprises.
He expressed his appreciation to the state government for providing the land, funding and other key logistics.
The Director appealed for additional support of the state government in the building of an administrative block as well as pick-up Vans and vehicles to aid in the daily logistics of the center.
Meanwhile the Governor of Nassarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, said the Incubation Centre would help in enhancing the socio-economic well being of the State.
“We are going to create a technological hub, in close proximity to the nation’s capital , this would further help to generate internal revenue for the state,” he stated.
The Governor also reiterated the state government’s commitment to capacity building of the teeming youths in the State and to position them towards empowerment.
