Nigerian Armed Forces set for half marathon championship

The Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies say it is set to hold the half marathon championship in Abuja, the Nation’s capital.

The Chairman Organising Committee of the Marathon Championship, Major General John Davies Rtd disclosed this while briefing Journalists in Abuja.

The theme of the Marathon Championship 2018 is “Racing to Bond.”

He said that the marathon would be holding on 30th of June, 2018 in Abuja and will feature over one hundred and eighty participants.

Major General Davies said there would be over one hundred and eighty participants in the Marathon Championship.

The participants will be coming from eleven security agencies including the Nigerian Army, Navy, Airforce, Police, Civil defence, Immigration, Customs and others.

It was noted that the last edition was won by Civil Defence.

Trophies, Laurels and cash prizes will be won by participants.

He applauded Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisaki for encouraging unity of purpose among Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies.
