Nigerian Army cleans up Minna


The Nigerian Army in its effort to foster  cordial Civil Military Relationship  has carried out an  environmental sanitation exercise across  Minna the Niger State Capital in North Central Nigeria on Saturday.

The Sanitation exercise which was anchored by the Officers and Men of the 31 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, took place  at the popular Mobile roundabout which includes city center, opposite ECWA Church, and the old Minna Market Premises.

According to the 31 Artillery Brigade  commander, Brigadier General Gideon Temitope , the environmental sanitation exercise by the Army in Minna, the Niger State Capital, apart from making the environment healthy and cleaner, is  also part of  ensuring and supporting cordial  Civil Military relationship in environments the Military operates.

The environmental sanitation exercise  is part of the ongoing Military operation  Ayem Akpatuma 2 which is   designed to  dislodge the  incessant activities of Kidnapping for ransom, attacks on communities, and other related crimes that is bedeviling communities in the North Central state and the North western part of the country.

The Army has designed series of activities across Niger State ,  For the two months periods of exercise Ayem Akpatuma, which includes, Town Hall meeting, environmental sanitation, medical outreach and other related service across the communities, so as to foster cordial relationship with the Civil Society,” said Brigadier General Temitope.

The environmental sanitation exercise  which started at the early hours of Saturday, by hundreds  Officers and Men of the 31 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army based in Niger State, NYSC members serving in the Brigade, was witnessed by the representatives of the Emir of Minna and that the Chairman of ChanChaga local Government council where the exercise took place .
