Nigerian Army in partnership with Security Affairs, an online Security News Platform has concluded plans to hold the 8th edition of Social Media Influencers Seminar.

The seminar aims at enhancing balance and fair reportage in the country’s security architecture and military’s effort to overcome the challenges.

The Editor-in-Chief of the Security Affairs, Mr Austin Peacemaker Inaede commended the Army for their commitment towards curbing counter narratives, fake news and misinformation which he believes are causing havoc and threatening peaceful coexistence in the society.

According to him, the advent of new media has given free licence to young Nigerians to blog, post, broadcast and forward messages without due diligence

Peacemaker also mentioned that the seminar will enable online journalists, bloggers and social media influencers to appreciate supreme sacrifice made by the Army to keep the country secured as well as the dynamics of the Cyber Warfare.

He announced that the 8th edition of the seminar is scheduled to hold on February 10, 2020 in Sokoto at Sokoto Guest Inn.

“It is estimated that over 16million Nigerians are on the Facebook, the highest in Africa, making Nigerians the most active users in the Continent. So it is imperative in this direction to be engaging the on-line  publishers and bloggers regularly for effective partnership”.
