Nigerian government investigates alleged court invasion

The Nigerian Government says investigation is ongoing to unravel the alleged arrest of the convener of #Revolutionnow protest, Mr. Omoyele Sowore at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Nigeria, by the Department of State Services, DSS.

Nigeria’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami disclosed when this when he paid a courtesy call on the Chief Judge of the Court, Justice John Tsoho.

The Minister said the visit was to congratulate Justice Tsoho for his confirmation by the Nigerian Senate as the substantive Chief Judge of the Federal High Court and to reassure him of government’s commitment to uphold the sanctity of the judiciary.

In a similar development, the Attorney General also paid a courtesy call on the President of the National Industrial Court, Justice Benedict B. Kanyip on his confirmation as the President of the court and assured of government support for him to succeed.
