Nigerian student-filmmakers create slick sci-fi short films

Nigerian student-filmmakers from Kaduna, in North-west of the country are making short sci-fi films.

The group Critics Company say they are making short sci-fi films with just a mobile phone and knowledge from YouTube tutorials, to carve a niche for themselves.

They said they just wanted to let the world know they were doing something different and not to go viral.

Raymond Yusuf, one of the group members however said that some of the problems they have been facing are availability of electricity and the capacity of their computers to run the software that renders raw movie clips.

“Our system is very slow, it takes hours to render a short clip. A five minutes short clip like Chase took us like two days…,” he said.
