The 56th annual congress of Nigerian veterinary medical Association has opened in Lokoja, capital of Kogi State, Central Nigeria.
The congress with the theme, “Veterinary Enterprise and Challenges of Entrepreneurship in Nigeria” is aimed at achieving greater partnership between human and animal health to achieve sustained development in Nigerian health sector.
Nigerian Medical Association describes veterinary medicine as a mid line between human health and animal health as most diseases emerge from humans to animals.
Training for Veterinary Medicine
Nigerian veterinarians under the aegis of the Association is asking Nigerian government and stakeholders in the veterinary sub-sector to review the training curriculum for veterinary medicine in training institutions, strict enforcement of regulations and increase access to fund by Nigerian veterinarians.
