Well meaning Nigerians have come out in their numbers in Lagos to hold a candle light memorial in honour of late Professor Pius Adesanmi.

Friends and members of civil society organisations used the opportunity to pay tributes to Nigerian born Canadian scholar as they signed the condolence register, which was opened at the Gani Fawemi Park in Lagos.

A human right activist, Femi Falana described the deceased as an extraordinary exemplary who devoted his life in the service of his country and humanity.

He advised the citizenry especially the leaders to emulate the exemplary life of late Prof. Adesanni who lived a life of legacy and dignity.

One of his close associate, Bar. Lanre Suraj said the legacies Pius left behind are worth celebrating.

According to him, Pius has finished his work on earth and has gone to be with his creator.

“Pius almost missed his plane but he called the travel agency to put his name, a sign that when it’s time, nothing anyone can do about it than to obey” he added.

The Organiser of the event, Mr. Inibeng Essien stated that there’s no amount of celebration given to Pius that is enough and equal to his work while on earth.

Pius Adesanmi died on the 10th of March when Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 crashed 6 minutes after take-off.
