NIMASA embarks on reforms that boost revenue generation

The Nigerian Maritime Safety and Administration NIMASA, says the reforms embarked in its activities have led to significant performance of the agency’s 2019 budget.

The reforms include stepping up monitoring including adopting satellite monitoring system as well automation of its activities for effective service delivery.

The Director General of the agency, Mr. Dakuku Peterside made the revelation while enumerating the 2019 budget performance.

Mr. Peterside said the agency remitted over sixteen billion Naira about fifty-two point five Million dollar to the Federation account, four billion Naira more than the projected 12 billion Naira in the 2019 budget.

He said “Over eighty-three point five billion Naira was generated as at October ending, representing 74% of the projection while 52% was achieved in the overhead component of the budget.”

NIMASA, according to Mr. Peterside has also commenced an effective debt recovery that improve the revenue generation of the agency.
