The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has launched the Indigenous IT Companies’ Portal (IICP) in Nigeria.
The launch of the portal is in line with the present administration’s Ease of Doing Business initiative, and also the Agency’s vision for Government Digital Transformation (GDT).
While officially unveiling the portal in Abuja, the Director General, NITDA, Dr Isa Pantami during the Stakeholders’ Engagement for Nigerian Government Enterprise Architecture said that the Indigenous IT Companies’ Portal was created “to checkmate the high rate of failures of IT projects, which were contracted without any provision for maintenance or a sustainability plan.”
Pantami emphasized the need for ICT to be integrated in all development and transformation options reforms and plans in all government institutions.
“Our public institutions form a big and critical enterprise that must be managed efficiently to ensure its resources are maximized to create value for stakeholders.”
We are committed to ensuring that the required ICT skills are developed in the public service, government digital service are promoted and it procurement and deployment in the Public sectors are properly coordinated, “ he explained.
The Director General added that implementation of e-government must be holistic and integrated before government digital transformation can be experienced
