The President, Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba says Nigeria’s bilateral relationship with Cuba has deepened within the last five years.

Comrade Wabba stated this at a send forth party organized by the NLC for the outgoing Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria.

According to Comrade Wabba, NLC has enjoyed tremendous support from the Cuban Ambassador within his years of service in Nigeria.

He said NLC was collaborating with the Embassy on several areas, especially in the health sector in order to reduce the medical tourism abroad.

”If there is any sector Nigeria needs to improve is the health sector and one sector that Cuba has excelled in is the health sector so we need to collaborate with Cuba to succeed in the health sector with its over one thousand volunteers all over the world.”

Comrade Wabba prayed that the incoming Ambassador will keep up with the good relationship.

Responding, the outgoing Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Carlos Trejo Sosa said working in Nigeria in the last five years has been safe and peaceful.

He said Nigerians are humane and peace loving people who need to live peacefully and stop the killing of one another in the name of politics.

Mr. Sosa said he would continue with the arrangement already on ground to help Nigeria develop its health sector as well as stop importation of drugs.
