NNL super four: Akwa Starlet chairman tips team for victory


Aniedu Dickson, Chairman of Akwa Starlet says his team will do everything possible to win the 2019 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Four, which begins in Enugu on Friday.

Four teams will battle it out at the NNL super four that will hold inside the main bowl of Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.

The competition is to determine the winner of the 2019/2020 NNL season.

The teams are, Akwa Starlet, Warri Wolves, Adamawa United and Jigawa Golden Stars.

Speaking to newsmen in Enugu on Thursday, Dickson, said that his team was in to Enugu to win.

” We decided to come into Enugu early enough to acclimatise with the environment, concentrate and fine-tune our strategies for the tournament.”

Dickson, however, noted that no team was a pushover and that all the four teams were potential winners of the title.

“But I am optimistic we are  going to live up to expectations,” he said.

Akwa Starlets of Uyo topped Group B2 of the NNL with 21 points, after seven wins and two loses, and had defeated 3SC of Ibadan 3-0 at the playoffs to secure one of the tickets to the NPFL.
